University of Missouri Extension embarked on a heifer development program in 1997 that also focused on genetic improvement. The overall program became Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifers, Inc. The southwest region follows the state guidelines found at: http://agebb.missouri.edu/select/prgmreq.htm These sales are held at Joplin Regional Stockyards the third Friday in May and November.
